Overview

Our client, a large and established electrical contracting firm with projects throughout the United States, is seeking an experienced Director of Safety to lead safety initiatives for its National Projects Group.

This senior leadership position will support some of the company’s largest and most complex projects, with a heavy concentration in data centers, mission-critical facilities, and industrial construction. The ideal candidate will have held a Director-level or comparable senior safety leadership position with a large electrical contractor, specialty contractor, or general contractor.

This is a remote position with heavy travel required, primarily throughout the Southeastern United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic safety leadership for major data center, mission-critical, industrial, commercial, and institutional projects nationwide.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Safety Managers and field safety professionals across multiple projects and geographic regions.
  • Develop and drive company safety policies, procedures, training, and best practices while ensuring compliance with OSHA and client requirements.
  • Partner with executive leadership, operations, project management, and field teams to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
  • Oversee project audits, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and safety performance metrics.
  • Travel extensively to project sites nationwide to assess risk, engage field leadership, and drive a proactive and accountable safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Significant construction safety leadership experience with a large electrical contractor, specialty contractor, or general contractor.
  • Director, Regional Director, Corporate Safety Manager, or comparable senior-level experience overseeing multiple projects and safety professionals.
  • Strong experience with data centers, mission-critical, industrial, advanced manufacturing, or other large-scale complex construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA requirements, electrical construction safety, LOTO, energized work, arc flash, fall protection, and other high-risk activities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with field personnel, project executives, senior leadership, clients, owners, and general contractors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
