Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished Director of Fire Alarm Construction & Service to lead and grow our client’s fire alarm operations across construction and service divisions. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership over project execution, service delivery, compliance, and team development while ensuring the highest standards of life safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The Director will oversee all aspects of fire alarm system installation, testing, inspection, service, and maintenance, serving as a technical authority and operational leader across commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and mission-critical environments.
Systems & Services Oversight
Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems (Addressable & Conventional)
- Voice Evacuation Systems
- Nurse Call Systems (where applicable)
- Emergency Communication Systems
- Integration with security, DAS, and building systems
Construction & Service Operations
- New construction and tenant improvement projects
- System upgrades, retrofits, and expansions
- Inspections, testing, maintenance, and service contracts
- AHJ coordination and compliance management
Qualfications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in fire alarm systems, including leadership roles in construction and/or service operations.
- Deep technical knowledge of:
- Fire alarm & voice evacuation systems
- Testing, inspection, and maintenance (T&I)
- Life safety code compliance and AHJ processes
- Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, and applicable state and local fire codes.
- Proven ability to lead and scale teams across both project and service environments.
- Experience managing P&L, budgets, and operational performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational involvement.
- NICET Level III or IV (Fire Alarm Systems) strongly preferred.
- Fire alarm contractor license(s) a plus, depending on jurisdiction.
