Traveling Electrical Superintendent (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Position Overview:
The Traveling Electrical Superintendent (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) is responsible for overseeing the installation and execution of large-scale electrical projects. This role requires strong leadership, project management, and field experience to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Traveling Electrical Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage safety and environmental programs on-site.
- Monitor job costing, quality reporting, forecasting, and productivity.
- Coordinate all labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities.
- Handle field administration, including timesheets, quantity reports, purchases, and job diaries.
- Implement and track construction plans, including scheduling and logistics.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop field personnel (15+ electricians).
- Participate in field work as needed, including hands-on tool work.
- Collaborate with internal support departments such as prefabrication, purchasing, and accounting.
Traveling Electrical Superintendent Qualifications:
- Journeyman Trade Certification in a related construction trade (preferred).
- Previous data center experience required. Prior commercial, airport, hospital experience a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Building Codes.
- Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid.
