Traveling Electrical Project Manager (Iowa + Nationwide) Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects across data center builds in Iowa and nationwide. This role requires extensive travel to multiple jobsite locations and offers significant autonomy in driving project execution from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $20,000.
Traveling Electrical Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of electrical construction project management, including budgeting, scheduling, planning, execution, and closeout.
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and field leadership to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Oversee project financials, including cost forecasting, change management, labor and material tracking, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA, NEC, NFPA), quality requirements, and customer expectations.
- Prepare and manage project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, schedules, and closeout packages.
Traveling Electrical Project Manager Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical construction project management experience, preferably in data center or mission critical environments.
- Prior commercial, airport, and hospital experience a plus.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex electrical projects from award to completion.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in project cost control and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to coordinate dispersed project teams.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- Willingness to travel extensively and work at various jobsite locations across the Midwest and nationwide.
