The Traveling Senior Electrical Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing electrical construction projects across multiple locations. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout while traveling extensively to job sites. Projects typically include commercial buildings, industrial facilities, warehouses, manufacturing plants, and infrastructure-related electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of electrical construction and design (when applicable) to ensure projects are executed in accordance with scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, general contractors, subcontractors, superintendents, general foremen, and union representatives.
- Direct project staffing and labor strategy, including selection and approval of superintendents, foremen, staffing levels, wages, and compliance with applicable labor agreements.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and coordination efforts, providing direction to engineering, estimating, and preconstruction teams, including participation in bids and proposal development.
- Manage project financial controls and documentation, including approval of purchase requisitions, pay applications, invoices, change orders, and maintenance of all official project records and logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards, enforcing corporate safety programs, OSHA requirements, and all company, client, and project-specific policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction project management
- Strong background in commercial and/or industrial electrical systems
- Proven experience managing multimillion-dollar projects
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
