Senior Electrical Project Manager (Kansas City, Missouri) Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager (Kansas City, Missouri) to lead complex electrical construction projects across a diverse portfolio including healthcare, commercial, retail, institutional, entertainment, and mixed-use developments. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle delivery—from preconstruction planning and budgeting through execution, commissioning, closeout, and client turnover. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at coordination across multiple stakeholders, and consistently delivers safe, high-quality, on-schedule, and profitable projects.

Senior Electrical Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout across healthcare, commercial, retail, institutional, entertainment, and mixed-use sectors.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost controls to ensure profitability.
  • Coordinate all stakeholders (owners, GCs, architects/engineers, vendors, AHJs, internal teams) to drive project success.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor buyout, and long-lead equipment planning to support field execution.
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and scope clarifications; negotiate pricing and approvals.
  • Partner with field leadership to plan manpower, sequencing, productivity, and quality compliance with NEC/NFPA and specs.
  • Enforce safety standards and lead risk identification/mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and support PM/PE teams, promoting best practices, accountability, and client satisfaction.

Senior Electrical Project Manager Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of previous electrical project management experience.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and integrated project delivery (IPD/Design-Build).
  • Strong leadership and decision-making under schedule and budget pressure.
  • High-level planning, organization, and multi-project prioritization.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and solutions-driven.
