Senior Electrical Estimator (Phoenix, Arizona) Position Overview:
The Senior Electrical Estimator (Phoenix, Arizona) will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects including commercial, healthcare, data centers, aviation and baggage handling projects.
Senior Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Manage and prepare detailed electrical estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents.
- Participate in bid strategy meetings and analyze project risks, labor costs, material take-offs, and subcontractor pricing.
- Perform quantity take-offs using digital software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and develop labor and material cost projections.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes and ensure coverage for all scope items.
- Recommend cost-saving alternatives and value engineering options during preconstruction.
- Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure completeness and alignment with the client’s expectations.
- Work closely with the preconstruction team, project managers, engineers, and clients to comprehensively understand project scope and budget.
- Maintain and update historical data for benchmarking and future estimating reference.
Senior Electrical Estimator Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, specifically for commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and commercial electrical systems.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, Trimble) and digital take-off tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, riser diagrams, and specifications.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with design-build and design-assist projects is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (not required with extensive experience).
