Electrical Site Superintendent (Detroit, Michigan) Position Overview:
The Electrical Site Superintendent (Detroit, Michigan) to lead labor, materials, and production efforts for an electrical construction project at an industrial construction site. This position will oversee a workforce of approximately 80–100 electricians, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications and quality standards. The role requires close collaboration with project management and field teams to meet schedule and performance goals.
Electrical Superintendent Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the field team to ensure safety, productivity, and quality standards are met.
- Enforce all company policies, processes, and project-specific requirements.
- Manage project labor requirements in line with the schedule.
- Coordinate material deliveries and releases to the job site and prefabrication shop.
- Oversee tool inventory, perform bi-weekly audits, and manage on-site prefab deliveries.
- Identify and implement prefabrication opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools or methods that enhance productivity.
- Monitor budget tracking through task codes and adjust resources as needed.
Electrical Superintendent Requirements
- Valid Michigan Journeyman Wireman license.
- Active IBEW Journeyman Inside Wireman card in good standing, or ability to join the IBEW.
- Proven leadership skills in a union environment, with knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
- High mechanical aptitude and proven ability to manage sub-foremen and subcontractors.
- Deep knowledge of power systems, lighting, fire protection, security, and data systems installation.
