Electrical Safety Manager (Detroit, Michigan) Position Overview:

The Electrical Safety Manager will lead electrical safety initiatives across mission-critical data center construction projects in the Detroit, MI region. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety standards while supporting high-voltage installations, complex power distribution systems, and commissioning activities.

Candidates with experience in data center construction are strongly preferred. Professionals with safety leadership experience in heavy industrial or automotive manufacturing construction environments will also be highly considered due to similar technical complexity and energized system exposure.

Electrical Safety Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead and enforce electrical safety programs across active data center construction sites
  • Conduct training on arc flash, LOTO, energized work, high-voltage systems, and power distribution safety
  • Deliver OSHA 10 & 30 training, new hire orientation, and company-mandated safety programs
  • Perform regular jobsite audits and inspections; ensure prompt correction of hazards
  • Support safe energization and commissioning activities in coordination with project teams
  • Maintain safety documentation, compliance records, and training tracking systems

 

Electrical Safety Manager Qualifications

  • OSHA 500 or 501 certification required
  • Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience required
  • Experience in data center, heavy industrial, or automotive construction environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and electrical hazard mitigation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence field teams and leadership
