Electrical Project Manager (Santa Clarita, California) Position Overview:

Goliath Construction Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a leading electrical contractor seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join its Industrial Wastewater team in Santa Clarita, California. This role is ideal for a project leader with a strong background managing electrical, instrumentation, and controls (I&C) scopes on municipal water and wastewater facilities.

The ideal candidate has experience overseeing complex public infrastructure projects, managing financial performance, coordinating with engineering teams and equipment manufacturers, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Electrical Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy industrial electrical, instrumentation, and controls (I&C) scopes on municipal water and wastewater construction projects.
  • Oversee all phases of project execution, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and project closeout.
  • Maintain financial accountability through cost forecasting, labor productivity tracking, budget management, and change order administration.
  • Coordinate procurement and delivery of long-lead electrical equipment, including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, generators, and related systems.
  • Work closely with owners, engineers, field teams, subcontractors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll, and public works documentation.

Electrical Project Manager Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience within the water/wastewater construction industry.
  • Strong experience managing heavy industrial electrical, instrumentation, and controls (I&C) scopes.
  • Working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, including:
    • Switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • Generators
    • Transformers
  • Understanding of SCADA systems, PLCs, fiber optic networks, instrumentation installation, and loop checks.
  • Experience delivering projects through CMAR, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build delivery methods.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, subcontractors, procurement, and change orders.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll, and public works compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience/electrical trade background preferred.
