The Electrical Preconstruction Coordinator (Detroit, Michigan) provides critical technical support to project managers and field teams, ensuring that electrical design documents, submittals, and layouts are accurately reviewed, coordinated, and implemented. Electrical Preconstruction Coordinator Responsibilities
- Review contract drawings and design documents for scope alignment.
- Evaluate other contractors’ drawings, design documents, and shop drawings for coordination.
- Review and interpret project specifications.
- Review internal material submittals and evaluate external contractors’ material submittals.
- Prepare 2D layouts for BIM modeling and site use.
- Support design coordination and resolve conflicts through proactive communication.
- Prepare and track RFIs related to the engineering scope.
- Monitor and track overall design and technical aspects of assigned projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure constructability and compliance.
Electrical Preconstruction Coordinator Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in electrical construction, design, or engineering support (internships/co-op experience considered).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction documents and specifications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
