Electrical BIM Modeler (Nashville, Tennessee) Overview:
The Electrical BIM Modeler (Nashville, Tennessee) will be responsible for creating and managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) models to support electrical design, coordination, and installation processes. This role requires strong proficiency in BIM software, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in electrical system modeling.
Electrical BIM Modeler Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trade contractors to resolve clashes and optimize design layouts.
- Generate shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings from BIM models.
- Perform clash detection and conflict resolution using Navisworks or similar tools.
- Assist in the pre-construction planning phase, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain BIM model integrity by updating designs based on field conditions and project changes.
- Work with project managers and engineers to ensure constructability and cost-effective solutions.
- Adhere to company BIM standards and ensure data accuracy for efficient workflow.
Electrical BIM Modeler Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in BIM modeling, preferably in electrical construction.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM-related software.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, NEC codes, and industry best practices.
- Experience with BIM coordination and ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
